It is estimated that 70% of the earth’s surface is covered in water and is home to the greatest source of biodiversity on our planet.
The sleek stingray is one of the ancient marine lifeforms, with its fossil record dating back 150 million years. Likewise, the Corvette Stingray is one of the oldest Corvette models, with its production dating back to the C2 generation and the early age of the muscle cars. The Stingrays’ popularity amongst car enthusiasts remains high as evidenced by their prevalence.
The barracuda is a large, predatory fish recognized by its snake-like appearance. While not an apex predator, or the fastest, largest fish in the sea, it is a opportunistic hunter, relying upon its speed and power to get the job done. The Plymouth Barracuda made its namesake proud, with its speed and power continuing to increase until the end of its production, in spite of not realizing apex predator status in the pony-car crowd.
The mighty marlin is the pinnacle of game fishing; rare, difficult to track down, and even harder to catch. The AMC Marlin is also difficult to sink your hook into, with rare sightings in the classic car world. The Marlin was only produced for a few years, and its unique design is still considered quite polarizing. In a sea of Corvettes, it might just be the one that gets you hook, line, and sinker.
